Noisy Air Vent / Fan

I just got my 2007 Civic Sedan a few weeks back and just had a question about the Air vent fan.

Is it just me or is it not very quiet? It seems fairly loud even when the fan is only turned on half way. Not super loud or anything just seems a bit annoying.
I also thought it's not as powerful as my old Civic's air vent

I don't know, just wondering if that's just the way they are designed or if my vent fan might be defective.
