Dash Noise - 3 Day Old Civic EX Coupe

Hi guys and girls. Well, I just picked up my 2008 Atomic Blue EX Coupe on Saturday.

Going to work this morning, REALLY LOUD vibrating noise coming from the dash. Seems almost like it's at the vent outlet near the front windshield. Had the same problem on my Tundra and stuff some little rubber wedges between the dashboard and the windshield. Ideas?

I'll take it back to the dealer, but would like to fix it myself. I had a Civic in 1996 that rattled so much that I couldn't stand it. I hope this is not a warning sign for me - I love the car and wanted to give Honda a chance again.

Thanks in advance.

If it is REALLY loud I would take it to the dealer. The rattles I hear are faint and annoying.

Principal is, it is BRAND new. I think u might be the first with the 2008. Take it in and update us

Welcome to the addicition.

Thanks Illusionstwice...

I searched through the noise threads after I registered (couldn't see the search link before). Seems as though I might be in for rattlefest 2008. I shoved some small rubber (big pipe gasket material cut with a razor blade - very soft rubber) between the windshield and the dash in two places. Going for a test-ride and will update. It's definitely going to the dealer if I can't find the way to fix the noise. These kinds of things will make me a basket case.

Take the damn car back to the dealership. These cars seriously haven't improved at all since 2006 have they?

I understand the whole wanting to fix it yourself but i mean its a brand new car,, id much rather have a permanent fix rather than some kinda rig or quick fix. you got a new car, take advantage of the dealership to full extent, you own them right now.

Unfortunately, they can't help. They haven't been in my case. It is not rocket science. But, unfortunately, the dealership is always clueless. When I first reported the problem, they said that they fixed it. But, actually, it had got worse. The second time, they said they fixed it. It was back to the original levels. And the third time, no improvement.
For any rattling issues, taking it to the dealership just adds to your miles. Nothing more.

Thanks
