Was my skunk2 exhaust a mistake to get?

Hey guys, i just recently purchased and installed a Mega Power Cat-Back Exhaust System R Version, with 70mm piping.

i love the way it sounds and all but a friend told me that it creates alot of back preasure and that im losing alot of power, now i do have a Injen CAI.

So i wanted to find out from you guys if he doesnt know what he's talking about or if i did make a mistake buying it???

Thanks in advance

Upgrading the piping on the exhaust, especially to 70mm, does not CAUSE back preassure. It actually lessens back preasure, and you gain power, you don't lose it. You might lose a SMALL amount of power in the low end, but gain a lot in the top end.

Your friend has no idea what he's talking about.

The diameter of the aftermarket exhaust is larger than the stock one. They will be less restrictive and as mentioned, lose back pressure. If your friends wants to witness back pressure, stick a grapefruit in the muffler and that may educate him.

This thread makes me LOL. Some people are so uneducated. Though I understand his thought process. Going from the exhaust port to large piping will slow the velocity from expansion.

Though you would need like 5+ inch piping to do that.
