Woosh great that my car isnt in it. Honda over here sucks anyhow and would be a total pain in the ass.
But if you are in the vin list it would be a good choice to get it changed.

Same one!! Thanks to the people in the Alberta Canada Honda factory. If this keeps happening they'll be able to single handedly undo Honda's reputation for quality. Way to go! I bet the Civics from Ohio and (of course) Japan are better built!! |

Why would you ask anyone other than a service manager about a recall? strCIVIC, if your car isn't in the recall's VIN range, there's no need to "fix" anything. Honda changed how it installs the sensors, so if this recall doesn't apply to your car, the O-rings are fine. Messing with what should be a proper installation will only increase the likelihood of failure. Last edited by ocspray; 09-19-2007 at 11:06 PM. |

Nothing in the TSB refers to country of origin or destination; VIN ranges are all that's given. msqr, the recall currently affects the VINs listed (see 1st post, this thread). Unless Honda adds to the list, that's it. |

1) HCM is in Alliston, Ontario not Alberta. 2) The Civics built in Ohio have had just as many service bulletins/TSB's, etc. I know because I work for one of the biggest parts suppliers to Honda (and the Account Manager in charge of the Civic project within our company). We see every detail of all warranty claim and JD Power info, and analyze it on a daily basis. 3) The only reason this claim is being linked to Honda Canada is because the reported cases have been IN Canada (use of road salts is much higher here, which would obviously increase the possibility of it happening here). The 4 door Civics that are built at Honda in Ohio are mainly for the mid-western and southern US. Not much chance of road salts affecting a seal there. |
