Pls read the post clearly
I would not spread rumors of MAde in China Seals
I believe it snot the seals that fail its the manufacturing or assembly that caused the issue

I really love the Civic, but some basic quality concerns that I thought Honda didn't really suffer from are rearing their head.

The service manager I last spoke to didn't care that I said my 2000 Grand Am had quieter suspension and higher quality (albeit MUCH uglier) plastics.

I don't mean to complain about the Civic, but I am disappointed with this quality, and I know its not because its "Honda", because the last gen Accord had a FANTASTIC interior. Not a squeak, rattle, ding, scratch or any other form of flaw from a rental interior of a 2006 Accord.

However, my 2006 Civic with 20,000 less miles looks a lot worse for the wear, and I assure you I take FAR better care of my car than Honda does their rentals.

Something about that just doesn't add up to me.

Ditto!

You don't have to wait for the letter; your VIN alone is proof enough that you need the work done.

Okay, I'll ask for a second opinion too. What if my 6th digit from the right is a 1 and not a 7? Does anyone else have a 1 instead?

I'm pretty sure that number is like a distribution number. 7 being the United States. 1 is Canada. Therefore, you have to wait for a Canadian TSB to come out before you can conclude whether or not you're affected.

honda dealership techs really piss me off ... i brought my car in for basically this reason last month and they wouldnt work on it because the tech couldnt hear the problem or some bs like that .... and now a month later its all over the news that honda's recalling their civics i couldve had this fixed and done with a month ago but now i got to waste another hour to bring my damn car in jus so the tech can again try and deny my claim on getting it fixed... the thing that pisses me off the most is because i know their customer service dept is treating me this way because i look young and they assume i know nothing and just try to come in to cause problems... jus my little rant about this tsb

Your first car 06 Si is affected!!! You gotta take it to dealership...

And your second car is not affected.

My right rear bearing went bad, was making a grinding noise for a while and I got it replaced a month or so ago. I guess this is a widespread problem. Kind of scary to think that your wheel could fall off.

They said they found nothing amiss. They forgot to stamp my VIN I think. That or they barely left a mark. At first I wasn't sure they looked at it because the wheels look untouched (I figure they grab them by the tire when on a lift though) but the lugs on the rear of my car were put on with the force of god so I guess that proves they did.
after reading this, did they actually replace the part? or did they look at it and see nothing was wrong and give your car back?

The recall just made news here in Chicago. I'm sure there will be plenty of people trying to get in to get this problem looked at. I'm making my appointment today!!

P.S. The Honda owners website has no information on the recall as of yesterday.
