check engine light

i had my check engine light come on the other day and in the odometer area it said this:

"B12" in the bottom left corner
"15" in the bottom right corner
"Oil Life %" in the middle on the top

what does this mean? is it serious, i am 180 miles from home right now is it still ok to drive back?

are you sure its the engine light and not the wrench light. Because Oil Life 15% means change oil and B12 is telling you what maintenances the car wants done to it. And those notifications are accompanied by the wrench light and not the CEL.

heres and easy test, get in your car and turn it on, when the light and those notifications come up, press the sel/reset button once and the light should go away and the message should change back to your odometer

It means you are due for your B service along with engine air filter and your heppa filter replacement (the 2 symbol).

If you do the servicing at your dealer, which you should....they will reset it. It will not go out by itself, the info on how to reset it is in your owners manual if you have a read under the maint. minder section.

Cheers. PS: Your MIL ( Malfunction Indicator Light ) is a little diagram of an engine, not the wrench.

EDIT: as the above person mentioned you can hit your sel/reset button to make it go away for that drive. As soon as You start the car it will pop back up again, it gets annoying.
