Trunk Closing Issues

Hello,

I recently bought a 2007 EX 4-dr, and am new to this forum. I upgraded from a 1999 EX 2-dr.

I'm having trouble with my trunk. I have to nearly slam it to get it to close -- otherwise it won't close -- just pops back up. Becuase I don't want to slam it too hard, sometimes it takes me 2-3 tries to close it.

On my 1999, I just had to let the trunk drop gently and that was it. Is this a "design" or do I need to talk to a dealer about it?

Thanks!

I have an 07 EX, but it is a coupe. However it takes just a light push to latch the trunk. In fact it is funny you brought this up, because I have actually noted that this is the easiest trunk to close I have ever had.

The latch may simply be misaligned. If you think it is not closing as easy as it should, take it to the dealer and see if they can simply adjust the latch.

My sedan is a little tougher to shut also. My 93 coupe had a very easy-close trunk, and when i shut the sedans trunk i basicaly slam it. Most of the time it takes me 2 tries because honda is usualy so good about closing doors and trunks with a light touch.

It sounds like it needs a small adjustment of the latch.
