Concern about Valvetrain

Hey guys,
So I had my hood opened yesterday with the engine on and i can hear my "clacky" valvetrain while standing in front of the car. There seems to be an area that is louder as well. This is with my A/C off, of course. I am worried about my engine. It seems to run normally but the valvetrain does not sound as quiet as it used to. The only engine mod I have is a fujita sri(i have had it for 7 months with absolutely no problems)and even after reading the magnussen moss act i am still concerned with bringing it in with out the factory intake on. I know they are going to try and blame any problem on my intake. What do you guys think? Maybe I just need an adjustment or a valvespring is bad or something. Has any one else noticed this? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks oh and btw I use mobil 1 full synthetic 5w30 every time my oil life hits %10.

eh I'm sure I will get berated for this by people but here goes. Every Honda I have ever owned has had a very loud valve train. So much on a few that I could hear it from inside the car at stoplights. My civics is also loud and has been since I bought it. On everyone even when the valve lash is in perfect specs it has still made noise. I also want to add that I have never had any problems from any of my Honda's that related to the valve trains or the top end of the motor all together. So basically to me its normal, but if you feel so inclined take it to the dealer so they can at least document it for you in case something bad does happen. good luck.

are you sure its not the clicking of the fuel injectors that you are hearing.

Yeah i'm sure. The fuel injectors have a more distinct sound. I used to build high performance marine engines, twin turbo 800ci race engine etc., and im quite technically inclined when it comes to internal combustion engines. The sound im hearing sounds like valve lash from misshifting. It sounds like the #2 cylinder assembly is out of spec. This is the reason for my concern, I can hear it more on one specific area of the engine so it freaks me out. Plus the car is under warrenty so I might as well get it looked at. My real dilema is that I dont want the guys at the dealership to crack my valve cover to inspect it for fear of future problems, Leaks, Oil dripping etc, but they know what they're doing so im going to take it in on thursday and have them do a full inspection on my car brakes, engine, tranny, clutch etc. The service manager said he will do everything for no charge. Works for me, I will keep you guys updated. Thanks for the replies.

Every 4-banger I have ever heard has a loud valvetrain after some mileage. Honda is no exception. My sisters old '98 Civic EX sounded terrible after about 50,000 miles.
