Security code for replacement cd player?

My CD player died a few weeks ago, it started as not reading CD's, then just spitting them out, to finally not even loading them all the way. Today I took it to the dealer to get it replaced and according to the service sheet they replaced it with a remanufactured unit. I don't see anything about a new security code though. If the car loses battery power, and I have to enter the code or whatever, will the code be the same as the old unit? Or do I need to call the dealer to get it now?

The new unit comes with a new card. They should have given it to you.

If your old card is in the leather wallet they may have just replaced it....maybe.

What leather wallet? All I got with the SI I bought 2 weeks ago was the manuals in a ziplock bag.

For me, there was small tag that was attached with my keys that contained the radio code.

A few days ago my battery had to be disconnected because i was getting some parts installed. But i lost my password card so i had to call the dealership and this is what the guy told me. They could be in the following places:

1. Sticker in your glove box
2. Open the fuse box under the hood and there should be a sticker with it on there.
3. It could be written in the first few pages of your ownership manual.
4. Get charged $60 for them to rip out your radio to get the serial number so they can look up the password. <----( Total BS)

And to the OP, i am assuming that it would be a new code. You should call the dealership to make sure.

While it isn't something that the OP will find useful (yet), I do recommend setting up an account at Honda's owner-link, and they have a section (after your login) where you can store the radio lock code.

As far as the OP goes, you should check the first couple pages of your owner's manual, sometimes they'll right it down in there.

Thanks

Mike

Isn't 52525 some sort of generic code?

Also check your trunk. They stick it on the inside of the door sometimes.

I just had mine replaced. Not sure if it's remanufactured (hope not) but it definitely sounds a lot quieter even when playing discs.

just a note for you before you get charge from the dealership to remove your radio to "retreive your radio code"

1. turn the power on to the vehicle
2. have the power to the radio off
3. hold "1" & "6" on your presets
4. power the radio on (while holding the above mention)
5. radio serial # appears a sequence of a letter with 4 #'s follow by another letter and 4 #'s
6. write down the 8 #'s, bring it to your dealer with proof of ownership

no charge for a radio code.

note: if the dealer charges you for your own effort...go some where else.
