Here's the situation. I did some mods this past weekend. Everything went off without a hitch. To help, the main mods were the P2R IMG and P2R TB spacer from Corsport. The battery was disconnected and removed for the installation.
OK, now for the problem. I put the battery in, turned the key forward two clicks (ON position, not START) and wait for the test to complete. The engine light stays solid for about 15 seconds and then blinks 5 times. I then turned the key off, checked all of my connections, hoses, everything...3 times. Reset, started again, same thing. I then said screw it and started the engine. Started up fine...no coolant leaks, no weird sounds (other than the ticking valves, normal). I let the engine warm up to operating temperature, no CEL or anything. Idle was a little rough but smoothed out. Before anyone asks, I tightened the IMG bolts down in sequence, rechecked...however I could not get my torque wrench in there so I torqued them down until I could no more. My next order of business is to clean the contacts on all sensors that were removed and tighten (if i can) the intake bolts. Other than that, I'm at a loss as to why I get 5 blinks from the engine light. I am leaving for the Tail of the Dragon meet this Thursday. I am about driving 8.5 hours knowing my ECU has detected a possible issue. I have searched this site and the internet for an up to date list of ECU error codes but cannot find.Anyone have any ideas? Feel free to ask questions and I can clarify anything here. I will be more than happy to rep away for anyone that can help! |

The 5 blinks of the CEL is the indication that your readiness codes are not set yet. This happens everytime you reset the ECU from disconnecting the battery or using the scan tool to erase DTC's. You will need to drive the vehicle in various conditions to set these readiness codes again. This probably will take a couple of days of city and highway driving.
