Exclamation Rotary Squeaking Sound, '06 Si

My info:
2006 Si, Galaxy Grey
17x7 stock rims, summer tire package (Pilot Exalto PE2s)
NO suspension/wheel modifications of any sort.

Earlier today I was driving through a parking lot in second gear, going about 5-10 mph. As I was making a sharp turn to round a corner, I noticed a squeaking noise emmanating from the wheels, as if the wheels were rubbing against something as I was turning. The noise was rotary, because the pulsating squeak got faster or slower as I accelerated or decelerated, respectively.

When I straighten out the wheel, the noise stops. It occurs in both sharp left AND sharp right turns at very low speed, but does not appear when I am turning at cruising speed. I got on my creeper and checked the underbody, but could not notice anything out of place (but I'm no mechanic). My car has less than 1000 miles on it, so I find it disheartening that such a conundrum has to show itself... what's the problem here? CV boot rubbing against the tire? Please help!

I assume my warranty would cover any repairs, if needed. But is there a chance my dealer would claim "wear and tear" damage and make me pay?

I'm stumped, and worried about my baby. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Squeeking conundrums are the worst. :) Try gently using the brakes and see if the sound goes away. It might just be the brake pads. Otherwise I don't know.

Is it like the tires are rubbing the wheel well? Sorry if that sounds dumb, but I'm just curious if anyone would have that problem anyway. The tires appear to fit really tight in there. I have only had mine 3 weeks but the first time I looked at it I wondered if snow would build up there this winter.
Anyway, I am just wondering if the tires could rub as you stated this was only happenning in very sharp turns.

what kind of pavement were you on. was it really smooth. does it do it on all types of surfaces. sounds like brake pads to me though.

It was a strip mall parking lot, and it was decently paved... I don't think that had anything to do with it. And as far as I can tell, all four of my disc brakes are working perfectly without making noise. I actually posted this message on the www.vtec.net forum and someone had also suggested it was the tires rubbing against the wheel wells. I suppose Honda sacrificed turning radius for the compacted engine bay and large windshield. I'm still amazed Honda could fit such a high-output, high-revving engine in such a small space!

I just hope there's no notable difference in the longevity of the engine...

Hondas are designed to have plenty of clearance, enough to run chains in the winter. Your tire is not rubbing anything.

How cold was it outside?

Was the car cold (recently started moving)?
