New 06 LX Sedan-What Annoying Features Can I Turn Off

Like that beap when i hit the lock button twice. Its already locked why beap. I just have a habit to hit it twice because it takes twice to unluck it. Anything thats kinda annoying that should be taken care of would be much appreciated.

you mean you want to be able to not wear your seat belts and not have that buzzer keep going off? if that what you want i won't give a lecture on how retarded it is to not wear your seat belt. I think if you diconnect the weight sensor under both front seats it will prevent that light from coming on, and yes it will mess with your airbags b/c if the car thinks no one is in the seats then it won't deploy the air bags if you get into an accident.

I like the beep after locking it twice. If I press the lock button from a distance, I can't hear the locks engage, so the beep lets me know that it actually worked.

^^^that and it lets any would be car theives in the area know whats up. granted if someone wants your car bad enough they are going to get it, but usually they will go for the easiest target available.

How would a car with an alarm be the easiest target available?

I wear my seatbelt but I'm not gonna force my friends to wear theres. Also, if im just backing out of the driveway I don't want the dam thing going off. I always wear it when its necessary. I really dont find driving down my driveway to get the mail or move the car in the driveway to be a necessary thing.

I always wear my seatbelt period.

Now days I'm having a hard time parking my car around my house due to construction. When I'm parking "only" the system doesn't make a sound at all, no matter how long I put the seatbelt off.

I always take my seatbelt off when I need to park my car to look around freely. I can drive in the lot without seatbelt and without the warning sound for 10 mins that I've done. However, I stayed under 10~15 mph speed.

I don't think the seatbelt alarm goes off anytime. When you are really just "moving your car" it doesn't really go off unless you go higher speed. Just put your seatbelt on man. First, that's the law and it wouldn't hurt anyone by not listening to the warning sound.

My friends always foget to wear their seatbelt when they are in my car. What I say to them is "Put your seatbelt on, or this car will make the annoying sound forever" and once they hear it, they put it on whenever I say it.

The car is designed that way and nothing will harm you in anyway just by listening to it. If you really don't want it, there areways to disable it, but I would not tell you how or recommend it becuase it's not necessary.

If you are driving 25 mph just moving your car, wear the seatbelt. That speed is pretty fast to be just "moving the car". If you friend is there, tell him to wear it, heck he's in YOUR car. The way I experienced it, the system doesn't have any flaw to it

I kinda got off topic, but this is what I was trying to say. If you don't like your car beeping after YOU press a button for twice, just don't press it twice. If you don't like something about you car, just don't do it. They never put up the features so you would dislike it. It only helps your, just get used to it.

I believe he was saying the opposite...when they hear your car beep, they will likely look for an easier target.

My seatbelt saved my life. Don't be an idiot, make your friends buckle up. And if they don't like it then tell them to drive themselves. Besides, in Ohio if you dont buckle up, the driver gets a ticket. I would imagine that this will go national soon enough.

Well, how about the light question. I can't seem to find anything in the manual.

On the maxima, I was able to disable the horn when I locked the car, disable the light alert letting you know that you locked the door, also how long do the lights stay on after I get out of the car, or if I want the headlights to turn on if I unlock the car. Not everyone has the same preferences, so honda should've setup a similar system to atleast try and accomodate most buyers.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Your DRLs will come on by themselves and go off by themselves. Your headlights won't auto turn on or off. There is a beep that sounds if you take the key out of the ignition and your lights are still on. It's pretty helpful. Does that answer your question?

I find this quite useful. After walking away from the vehicle for like 30 feets when I'm not sure if I locked the door or not, I just press it twice to hear the honk as a reminder. I think many cars come this way, at least my friends G35and Accord do. My gf's BMW won't make a sound and I like it better with the honk on the second hit.

If you really can't stand it, just hit it once like the Honda guy said
