Amsoil MTF?

Hi, this is my first post to the forum and I've been lurking around for a while now. I just recently bought an 07 LX Sedan 5sp and I'm in love with it. I work in a restaurant and we're really close to the guys over at the Mercedes dealership so we all get our cars worked on there. So I had my boy hook me up with an oil change with Mobil1 and the engine is quieter and running quite smoother.

So I've been searching and reading posts about Amsoil MTF and it isn't that I didn't search, it's just that most of the posts about Amsoil MTF are about a year or more old. Just curious if anyone has run into any problems with it at all recently now that we've all put some extra miles to our cars. To the dismay of most of the Mercedes techs, some of which used to be Honda techs from next door, I told my mechanic to go ahead and change it to the Amsoil I brought with me.

But a lot of the other techs had me worried since they were saying things about my bearings going out, my synchros going out, the whole egotistical "I used to work over at Honda so I know," situation. And although they think I'm out of my mind, I really do not see ANY reason as to why running a synthetic manual transmission fluid over our conventional manual transmission fluid from Honda (which they even had some sent over just for me, just to try to get me to lean away from it), would harm the tranny. Not only that, my shifts are night and day smoother, and the conjunction of double-clutch downshifts and the Amsoil seemed like they weren't meant to live without eachother.

So has anyone run into any problems as to the recent who have done the Amsoil MTF switch?

Thanks in advance for any input.

My customers have given me zero complaints, nor have I heard any thing bad about the new MTF.

The most important thing about it is that it maintains it's viscosity much better than most conventional MTFs. After all it is a 5w30 fluid, but contains little or not viscosity index improvers to shear down and leave the fluid thin.

Same here... You are not going to have any problems unless there is already a mechanical problem waiting to come to the forefront.

I sell a lot of MTF and MTG with a lot of Happy return customers.
