Seat bottom came undone

This is not really a question per say but my latest problem is that the drivers seat, the bottom part that folds underneath where the bottom of your legs would be, has now popped out and for the life of me, cannot get it to go back to the way it should.

There are plastic pieces that run along the bottom of the seat fabric and look like they snap up under and behind the metal lip on the front bottom of the seat.

God luck getting them back. I tried for 2 hours.

Anyone else have this problem.

We always talked about how we felt (most of us) that the seat materials would not hold up, but I guess not in this way.

I have already begun shopping for a replacement car, shame though, if it were not for the many problems, I would love this car.

Most likely going back to scooby's. I had a 05 that got creamed by some bitch and traded for this civic. I am hunting down a 07 as the 08's are butt ugly. Maybe a legacy sedan.

Are you talking about the plastic airbag thing on the back of the seat? if so amdhunters fell off of his lx and on my ex they were poping out but i popped it back in so far so good i guess. Do you hear it binding or feel like it will pop off everytime you get in to sit? mine is starting to do that i dont know what it is.

No, its the entire material around the front bottom of the seat, completed came out and now the bottom cushion looks 2 inches deeper where your calves would be.

How annoying.

take it to the dealer, there is TSB for that, even if you are out of warranty you can qualify for goodwill consideration since this is known problem to Honda and it is caused by the metal frame that the plastic clips on or you can try bending a lil bit the frame and see if it will clip permanently

The seats I have look like the fabric was very poorly secured underneath the seat butt, and I could easily see this happening over time.

I'm content with the Si for now, but I'm constantly car shopping, and won't hesitate to replace it if I feel something better comes along.

Just go to the dealer and get it fixed. It can be a potential safety issue esp if it is in the pass. seat since you have the OPDS system in the seat + all the cables for the airbags. If the seat cover is loose it will move around and can cause damage to those cables. So you don't want:
-air bags not working when you need them
-explaining to a potential buyer that the airbags never deployed but you have that them light ON....

In response to all, I have already started car shopping and if I am lucky the car will be gone before I have to get this fixed.

If for some reason, I can't trade (mostly financial) I will take it to the dealer with the TSB for this and the bump stop and demand the fix this shit.

Long Island dealers never want to fix shit unless you threaten them with corporate contact & action, etc.

I had to do that just to get the mount fixed & the belt replacement for the tsb!

Same everywhere, at least in my experience. No dealer will touch the third gear issues, and the ones that do just say "that's normal".

No, it definately is not normal.

6 hours for the seat fabric/cushion issue, is that possible or did they have the car for 6 hours and take 1 hour to fix it?

the belt tsb is A06-059 or 069, can't remember right now but it would be much better if you can do it yourself - the new belt, that you can buy from every online honda parts( majestichonda, college hills honda, bernardi parts etc.) is ~$20. For mine I had to almost rape the dealer and after installation they f@#$ up my tensioner thread (now is all stripped and probably can't install another belt) and half the dealership informed me that they tested my car (my poor baby )

Hey, I am not trying to be lazy but I believe in this mechanical section, all the TSB's are there.

I also know on edmunds.com forusm, if you type in 2006 lug bug, the TSB should be in the past, and the motor mount TSB should be in the 2006 honda civic forum.
