oil filter problem

i used the search button couldnot find anything
im doing my first oil change as i type i stooped because i cannot take off the oil filter (si) its on there super tight i took off the wheel and i have a oil filter rench but still doesnot come off any suggestions that will help me apreciate it guys thanks

i used muscle. it took a lot. the first time is really hard then its cake. good luck

Yeah... It took me a few hours and going to an auto store a few times. Plus yelling and cursing at the filter helps. That's how the first oil change always is.

Oh yeah, I ended up not using an oil filter wrench. I used the clamp and that completely took care of the problem. Don't know if it'll work for you as well. I bought the oil filter wrench, but it didn't work as well for me.

actually not a bad idea. or get a oil filter wrentch with like lil grooves. not the metal band one. i bent mine all to shit. good thing you dont reuse them. also get ready for oil to get everywhere cuz its dumb where it is.

Just make sure that your are turning it to the left (counter-clockwise) and put some muscle into it. It took a good bit to get the original oil filter off of there. Put a plastic baggy around the oil filter after you break it loose so that when you unscrew it you keep all the excess oil from dripping all over your axle and sub-frame. I hear a 1 gal. milk jug cut in half, placed under the filter works too. Good Luck.
