P2R + gaskets + K&N = no !

I already knew this, but the stubborn Italian I am, I go ahead and install the P2R TB spacer + gaskets WITH my K&N. Of course, the heatshield hits the brake lines. So I yank out the heatshield, and modify it a little. Bend in the corners. Fits.

Now, all installed, etc, it vibrates quite a bit on the steering wheel and brake pedal at around 3k rpm.

My question is, besides the obvious using the stock air intake, would the K&N work WITHOUT the heatshield ?

I am about to find out and will let you know!

I will probably answer my own question!

ahha.

Well of course it would work with a drop in K&N and stock intake, I'm talking about a non-bendable K&N :)

I am attempting... right now! (its cool enough now I guess)

UPDATE: Took the heatshield off, sounds louder lol.

Anyway, it still vibrates a little, because it slightly rests on the brake lines. This K&N SRI won't be on my car for long. I hope the Injen SRI works.
