Nice DIY!

one thing though. I believe the wire you want to take off when working on a car is the negative terminal on the battery.

It really doesnt matter, taking off the positive terminal just makes it so you dont ground something else and get a little built up juice to shock you, ive had it done before.

Actually, you'll shock yourself if you take off the postive terminal first. Since the whole car is ground, and negative is ground. Its always a good idea to take of negative first.

If you're taking off negative and you accidentally touch frame or metal, nothing happens. But if you're taking off positive first while you're wrenching and touch some metal with that sucker, you'll turn your wrench into an arc welder.

Remember positive is hot, negative is ground.

Its why all manuals tell you to take off the negative first when doing a battery, alternator, starter, or anything electrical.

ok Doctor, next time you do a D.I.Y. be sure to wright that in there. But for the most part Travis did a damn good job with the D.I.Y. i'm pretty sure most people have enough common sense to be carefull when working on their car not to hurt themself or the car. So i really don't see the point to bash.
