If it's making a very faint click, then yeah, it's normal. I had a Honda technician assure me this last summer when I bought the newer generation Civics. We went from car to car in the lot and sure enough, each clutch clicked when I pressed and depressed the clutch.

Check to see if the fuze cover is properly secured under ur dash. Mine was a bit loose and not in the proper position, it seemed to hit the top of the clutch pedal assembly and made a "click", this was also felt in the pedal. After i reattched the fuze cover correctly problem was gone.

I don't think it has anything to do with cruise control. If you were to set cruise control and lightly rest your foot on the clutch (as a test!!!), the cruise control will shut off immediately. In other words, the clutch is really sensitive and will cancel the cruise control.
