How much oil consumed between dip sticks top and bottom dots?

I was just wondering how much oil the top and bottom dots on the oil dip stick discern. So basically how much oil would be burned off it you went from the top dot to the bottom one?

I find that if you don't check your oil at all, there's nothing to worry about.
