Question for M/T Owners: Gear-shift knob

Have the DX-G (CDN) model for about 4 months now (10,000 KMS) and just noticed that the silver/grey on the top of the gear-shift knob is fading and showing the colour of the white plastic behind it... I didn't think this would be happening so soon. Has anyone else been experiencing this? And you think the car warranty will cover this (ie. replace the gear-shift knob)?

i haven't heard anyone else having this problem, but the dealer should deff. cover that under warranty.

Yeah, I'm not please by it... seems like cheap paint was spray-painted on the top.. there are no scratches on the knob (I don't wear any kind of rings, etc).
I'll let you guys know if this will be covered by its warranty.

Update: Went to the dealership yesterday and they looked at the knob and said if falls under the 3 year/60,000kms warranty. I just hope the new one lasts longer than 4 months!

Also, you might want to check the weld points on the doors... I noticed on the passenger doors (front and rear) that there is surface rust on them. You might have to lift up the rubber sealers to see them. I was told to go to their body shop to have it checked out. It's still a cause for concern and maybe only affects owner in the colder climes.

I had some rust on my driver side door that I took care of myself:

Check the welds on your doors!

Yes, I remember reading your post awhile back ago. :)
I was going to fix this myselft too but I'm going to head over to the body shop to see what they're gonna say.
