I clean mine once a month. My car was bogging and the responsiveness of the throttle was terrible. I figured I'd clean the MAF and it was perfect after that.

this site has some pics. the mazda maf is pretty identical to our honda ones.

it's pretty simple really; the only thing is not to actually touch the maf sensor because, apparently, it's very fragile.

you don't have to have that mass air flow sensor cleaner, the crc electrical component cleaner works fine.

as for my cel, chances are it was caused by a dirty filter. if you're going to clean ur filter, u might as well clean ur maf while ur at it.

Alright, I'm back. I noticed a different but it wasn't huge. My MAF wasn't very dirty, either. I'll probably do this every 2-3 months...

When should I clean the K&N? Anyone have a recommendation?

all i know is that a year without cleaning a filter (in arizona) is a bad idea.

i've filled up about 3 tanks now since i've cleaned my filter; about a +3 or +4 mpg difference...
