Hydrolock... maybe?

Now, from what I've read, if an engine ever hydrolocked, it's pretty much screwed and would cease to function, correct?

I ask because I SERIOUSLY was freakin out yesterday after I brought my car into the local brushless carwash. Now, sure it was idle during the wash, but when it was done, I put it into gear to move forward and as I stepped on the gas, my baby stalled on me. So now, I'm like... wtf? For the record, I have a Fujita CAI. I started the car again, which is a BIG nono if it had hydrolocked, upon which it stalled again. So then I'm sweating, left the car off for a bit and, paced back and forth for a while panicking. After a few minutes, when all hope was lost, I tried starting again, which, again, is bad if it was hydrolocked, but it started this time. Then I drove home (staying as low on the tach as possible) and prayed that she'll start again the next day.

So. My question is. Is it still possible to have done damage to the engine and still have it function alright? Mind you, there was no CEL or anything like that indicated... TIA for any replies.

You just got some water on the filter and it sucked it in. Not really a big deal. Now, if you were to fully submerge the filter and you applied the throttle...

your fine. the filter was just wet. when it stalls let it sit for 30 minutes before trying to start it next time. you will definatly know when you have hydrolocked your motor. just be careful going thru the car washes.

Ok so I doubt you actually hydro locked if your car ran again. Also for future reference its better to keep the revs higher since there is less manifold vacuum therefore less risk of sucking up water/ I don't think you have much to worry about since your car drove home w/o throwing a code. I would take the filter off and make sure it is dry and also make sure that there is no standing water still inyour intake tube. Other than thats theres not too much you can do. Good luck
