I believe there are 2 different emission tests in NY state, the "upstate" test is a OBD II test like that^ guy said and yes, basically if your check engine light is not on then you will pass. The other is a sniff test, done in the NY city metropolitan area. I don't know much about that test.
So basically it depends on what type of test your state or location in that state does, sounds like you might pass one but not the other. |

I was on the assumption that they were getting the sniffer test. A "sniffer" or talepipe test is a definite fail with a RH. I just installed a BCRH on my FA5 last weekend & I'm no machine but trust me my nose says my car is stinkier fo sho.
