Air bag light on and off....

This little light that is shown in the picture keeps turning on and off. I saw that it comes on more when you scoot the passenger seat up. But, recently it has just stayed on no matter where the seat is. Now, I though it might be the problem with the defective SRS light, I took the car to Honda and asked. The tech. told me it was a completely different code. He said the problem might be caused by the LED strip I have on my passenger side, or the led tube under the seat. I dont see how either one of these things could be a factor, but they said if they check it out and find out the LED is the problem my warranty would be void, so I just let the light stay how it is. Can someone possible tell what is going on?

I dont know how this LED strip has anything to do with the seat?

This shows the LED tube and wires are completely out of the way of anything the has to do with the seat. (dont mind that little gold piece, thats my headphones the fell under the seat this morning.)

Where did you tap your power for the LED tubes? Might it been the SRS system and how it's sensing a fluctuation in the power to your airbags?

Then take it back to them, have them disconnect it and test. :)

Dealers will always try to blame problems on something you or somebody else did to the car if they can. In all fairness though, if they see something which could potentially be causing the problem they have to warn you that if something you did is causing the problem it won't be covered.

It is possible that the place that installed the LEDs tapped into the wrong circuit for power. However this is unlikely because the wires for all SRS equipment is bright yellow or orange. Most installers know not to mess with these wires, but it is possible. It is also possible that they knocked/bumped a connecter or switch out of place.

If it is determined that the LEDs have anything to do with the problem I would take it to where they installed them and make them fix/pay for it. But most likely it is not related to the LEDs.

P.S. Did the dealer explain the code to you, or tell you what the code was?
