W/ Amsoil will sychros still eventually mess up?

Ive been having problems with my third gear popping out and grinding usually a couple times a day so i ordered the amsoil, thinking i don't want to deal with the dealer bssss. But im starting to wonder if this will just mask/postpone the problem till past the warranty. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.. I plan on keeping the car 10 years soo..
Also how much would it cost to replace the synchos if it was needed.. w/ labor

Maybe i should just purposely grind the shit out of third gear so theres no way they'll miss it.. hmm

Yeah I have the same concerns. Just put my AMSOIL MTF in yesterday and I'm still grinding 3rd if I shift too fast. Kinda sucks, I only got about 1.5L in though, so maybe I have to drive it a few more days and hopefully it'll get smoother as the oils mix up.

Btw, add a question mark to ur topic... it looks almost like a statement to me.

You guys are misunderstanding something. The Amsoil will not "fix" the problem. The synchros are rough when they engage due to design and manufacturing; they are working the way they are supposed to, it's just that it's not as good as we would like. Yes, it's a shame that it happens in a Honda, but they've always had a bit of trouble with transmissions in the past.

The Amsoil will help with the symptoms, but it is by no means a "fix". As soon as the fluid shears down through use, the roughness will come back. Just change your fluid more often and enjoy the car for what it can do!

But how come Honda MTF (I'm assuming they come brand new, not used? So changing it often with Honda MTF wouldn't really fix this problem would it?) gives poorer performance than the AMSoil? I've been driving around a bit more and I have noticed definite improvements now with the 3rd gear shift. It's a LOT better, and I have much more confidence going into 3rd now than I did before. Whether this causes long term problems I do not know, but short term problems are pretty much gone, and I'm sure grinding 3rd is a problem..

Going with the switch to AMSoil I had a lot of doubt and was very skeptical even having hearing so many praises, but I'm a believer now... just wish I could of drained the whole 1.8L out I was only able to fill up about 1.4-1.5L of the AMSoil MTF but is definitely funner now

I had mine swapped out with AMsoil on Saturday. Definitely shifts better but the "wall" issue on 3rd is still there sometimes. Gotta agree though, its much better then Honda MTF

I also recently put in AMSoil, it takes a couple days for it to work its magic.
After that, no more 3rd gear wall :)

Are you talking about the panel on the driver side that the seat belt runs out of? Cuz a friend of mine was in the back and he noticed it last week, the panel has somehow popped out

Goin to dealership this friday to let them check it out

Honda does not manufacture their MTF; it is outsourced. They are not trying to give you the best possible fluid for your car, since they need to strike a balance between quality and cost efficiency. Amsoil has no such limitations. Through their own R&D based solely on synthetic fluids, they sell a high-quality synthetic MTF at a premium price.

I say use the Amsoil and drain it about every 30,000 miles.
