Unhappy Passenger side panel LOoSE!!!!

Hi you guys, i have a 07 four door si and my problem is that panel on the passenger side under the seat belt latch (panel between the front and back door, bottom piece ) keeps popping out and doesn't wanna stay put. it goes back in easily but keeps popping out. i took it to the dealer and they said they didn't find anything wrong and its clearly popping out. I am just frustrated beacuse i only had this car for 5 days and the work quality seems horrible. any suggestions on this would be great. I really dun wanna got to stealership and get the same response again.

Ah, this problem is old and goes back to the 06. I had this problem. You have to pull away the rubber moulding, pull the center bottom panel out and you will see what looks like little tabs. These tabs must be bent back correctly so when you reinstall the rubber moulding, the moulding holds the clips in place. When you see the tabs you will notice that they are bent in a way which does not let the moulding hold the panel snug to the car.

Must easier to do when you see for yourself.

This was posted many many many months ago in this section with photos.

JATT i also have the same problem but its with the passenger side dash panel,it will not pop back into place and i have already took it in to the stealer 3 times. The recent visit the moron service guy said "we also fixed your dash panel" i looked and sure enough it wasn't fixed! then they have the audacity to say on the 2nd trip there one of the service people and the manager said that the ill fitting panels are "normal" i call bullshit on that how the hell is a loose ill fitting poor sloppy fit panel normal??! i swear there is no quality control at the Alliston Ontario Canada plant. HOA has a very serious problem with their dealerships communication and service departments this is very unacceptable its because the stealership is either A. Too lazy to diagnose and fix the problem or B. Wont fix it under warranty because HOA doesn't pay them for compensation or something. check this thread out too Interior Trim Panels Popping Out - Near Seatbelts courtesy of kero. There also is a post from another member on here that made a reply on my thread, and he said his airbag panels on the seats popped off completely! i saw the video and he said that the panels would fall off and hit the floor.

thanks for replying i took out the panel and i did find the clips bent the wrong way so i softly straightened them and popped the panel back in without stripping the weather seal thing. So far so good... but meanwhile driving home i discovered rattling noise coming from under the passenger seat when i go over the uneven area. i got home and started tapping the side of the passenger seat and i hear the noise again. iono what it could be. Since i fixed the panel (HOPEFULLY) the dealer can give me a better answer for this one. and i will let the dealer know how retarded there service department is.

Thanks to all of you that responded and helped a newb out.
