Random CEL ? 9000k miles... cai only

I drive an 06 honda civic si...with about 9,000 miles...and today i just recieved my 3rd check engine light and my service advisor is denyin to work on my car under warranty...which i am extremely upset about and im about to talk to a manager pretty soon. The 1st time it came up...it was on a friday.. i took it straight to honda and they told me to bring it back money since i didnt have time...so i didnt drive my car at all that weekend...and the followin monday...no cel..but i still took it to honda and they told me they found nothin. 2nd time i took it straight to honda and they told me it was a random cel and said that i was runnin too rich ? i also asked them about my poppin noise when i shift...so a tech rode with me and my dumb self powershifted once just to show how noticable the pop was....because it wont always pop if i just shift normally...so the guy accused me of abusin my car... so now they dont wanna work on my car cuz of that....i asked a tech at mercedes ( i work there and he use to be a tech at honda for 10 yrs and was a silver somethin..) and he told me that it was bull crap and they dont know what they're doin....ive also asked the mercedes service advisors and they told me that was crap too. why am i gettin these random cel ? please serious responses.

Let me guess, Injen CAI? Tends to happen randomly on the highway but turns itself off?

Edit: Looked at your profile and saw that you DO have the Injen CAI. Join the club (which is starting to grow in popularity it seems, myself included) of those randomly getting check engine lights thanks to this "incredibly well-engineered" product that this forum is so biased towards. Hell, I got another check engine light today while driving on the highway. Why it's happening I do not know, but it's not just happening to me.

And why the hell would you powershift and then expect them to fix it?

Why? It's not their fault this CAI causes check engine lights now is it? They fix defective products, not products that have issues/failures as a direct result of an aftermarket part put on the car. This is truley a case where Honda can refuse to work on the car and I have no hard feelings against them for it. If you want the CEL to go away, $10 says if your intake goes bye-bye that CEL will go bye-bye.

As far as dropping the hammer in the car while a Honda tech is in the car, what the hell do you honestly expect them to say? Any dealership is going to do that as far as I'm concerned. If you abuse the car, you better pay for the stuff you break. Hell, if you would have taken 5 minutes to read this forum you would have known that a HUGE amount of Si owners have the clunking problem and that no one knows the solution. You could have completely saved face at that dealership.

I've checked every nut, bolt, hose and screw on mine and it's all done perfectly. My MAF isn't dirty, has been cleaned, and I still get random CEL's while driving on the highway that NEVER appeared until that thing was put on.

I wonder how many people argued this when people first started getting CEL's with the AEM intake..

I'm sorry to say, but your not so smart. I wonder why there is a poping noise if you don't shift normally, because your not doing it right! This car wasn't meant to powershift.

Elbow is on and well over the throttle body inlet. MAF is in VERY tight as I've checked that a few times.

Had it installed for around 3 months, now, and I've had a check engine light every few weeks.

No car is meant to power shift. You will greatly reduce the life of your transmission and clutch when you do that. Put yourself in service manager's shoes. If a customer came in and said they had a problem, you'd tell them you'd take care of them, given that you can. But if they had to drive the car in a way that it wasn't meant to be driven to create the problem, you'd probably tell them the problem happens because of a driver error or the fact that you're just not using it the way it was originally intended.

Incredibly biased, and from what I can tell stupidly so. No one on this forum can even provide proven intake temps....which I can tell you mine are MUCH hotter than stock, being that the intake pipe is scalding freakin hot. I've been saying Injen CAI FTL! for two weeks now, ever since summer started.
