Passenger Side Door Lock

Hey guys I think I have a problem with my passenger side door lock. Correct me if I am wrong but aren't both driver and passenger side door locks supposed to unlock when you shut the car off? Right now only my drivers side door is unlocking. I was going to take it in to get looked at but I didn't know if there was something I could do first.

In the manual it details how turn this feature on/off and how to program it to unlock driver side only, or driver and passanger side locks. It is some strange procedure like turn key on with driver door open, hold unlock button for five seconds, close door, turn key off etc. I turned mine off the first day.

someone has it posted in this forum.

one of the settings is to automatically lock your car when ur going like... 10mph? ish? and supposed to unlock when u take the key out.. but it only unlocks the drivers side.

it sux -_-

u should just change it so it doesnt auto lock after u hit that 10mph or watever.

You can actually change the auto lock and auto unlock settings. I turned them both off. It took me a couple of tries because the steps are very similar for both settings, but it only takes a minute or two.

+1

everythings in the manual dude. you have to do stuff like turn the ignition halfway, click your window button twice, flash your lights, put one foot in a bucket of water, close one eye, do a line of coke, and sing "i'm a little teapot"... and then eventually your car will transform into a mech.

i swear it's in there... i just can't remember the page number...

seriously tho, what you're lookin for is there... check the index.

The 06's only unlock the driver side. The 07's can unlock the passangers side too.

From manual page 83:

Auto Door Unlock Modes

set to unlock automatically in two Auto Door Unlock Modes modes for automatic transmission vehicles (Park Unlock mode or Ignition Switch Unlock mode) and one mode for manual transmission vehicles (Ignition Switch Unlock mode). The default setting from the factory is the driver’s door unlocks in Park Unlock mode (A/T) or Ignition Switch Unlock mode (M/T). To program modes, refer to the following instructions.

To program the Park Unlock mode:
When the shift lever is moved into the Park (P) position (automatic transmission vehicles only).
Unlocks the driver’s door or both doors

1.Apply the parking brake.
2.Move the shift lever to P, and close the driver’s door.
3.Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
4.Push and hold the rear of the master door lock switch on the driver' s door. You will hear a click. Continue to hold the switch:
• Until you hear another click(after about 5 seconds) to activate driver’s door unlock, or
• Until you hear two more clicks(after about 10 seconds) to activate all doors unlock.
5.Release the switch and, within 5 seconds, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.

Maybe he referring to the mechanism? I'm not sure how true the original statement is because I don't have an 06 to test it on.

I DO know that out of the factory (or at least mine), it did not unlock both doors at the same time while turning off the car. I had looked through the manual and completed the indicated procedure in order to get it to work.

Good luck!

The key word is "can" unlock both doors. If you read the instructions a few posts back, you will see it shows settings to unlock drivers door lock only, or all locks. It can be set either way. Mine was set to auto-lock both doors (Coupe), and unlock only the drivers side door when I picked it up from the dealer. I set mine so it would not auto-lock or unlock any doors.

2006 SI'S CAN NOT UNLOCK BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. ONLY 2007'S HAVE THE OPTION AND IT'S LISTED IN THE MANUAL ON HOW TO DO IT.

Sorry for the caps but there have been 10,000 threads on this and in each and every time there is an argument about it.

I have a 2006 Si and a 2007 Si sitting in my garage overnight. I know this answer better than anyone since I've programmed the locks on BOTH cars.
