Rattle noise in headliner

Has anyone else had a rattle in their headliner. Mine does in town on bumpy roads and on the highway. However, it goes away if I hold my hand on the headliner, but as soon as I let go it starts again. Also it doesn't do when I have the moonroof visor closed. If anyone has had this problem and found a solution, I would appreciate the info on how to fix this problem. Oh ya the sound is located about in the middle center of the headliner.

My car had this problem too. It is not an intermittent rattle.

You need to lubricate the rubber seal around the moonroof with silicone lubricant. Just spray it on a rag and wipe the seal down. This will instantly get rid of the rattle you hear when the moonroof is closed.

For the record, you should be lubricating all of your rubber seals (doors, trunk, moonroof, hood) on a regular basis, at least twice a year, for waterproofing and smooth operation. Your seals will last for decades if you follow this routine. It's called silicone spray or silicone lubricant, and can be found at any auto store. DO NOT buy silicone grease, it is a totally different thing!

Try using the 3M anti-squeal tape, I liked the paint section of my car where the sunroof meets the metal and it solved all those problems, doesn't make a sound at all, any time, even in the cold.

Are you saying to apply silicone spray directly to the rubber on the sunroof/trunk where it seals?

Spraying it on a rag or paper towel and using that is much easier, with no risk of overspray.

You can also buy Shin Etsu grease from Honda. Apply from the tube to a shop cloth and apply sparingly. I imagine this is what the dealer will do for you also.
