Problem after IMG install

I installed my IMG last night and everything was fine, drove to work today no prob (except it seemed like vtec wasn't kicking in hard)...

Anyway, coming home from work today I downshift and mash the gas to pass and the car hits out 5.5k and the RPMs just drop and then recover, this happens a few more times and then I get a CEL. I pushed it hard again anfer a few minutes and no problem. CEL is still on though!

Any thoughts?

Air leak somewhere? A hose not hooked up correctly?

hummm, I wouldn't push it too hard until you figure out what went wrong. All you can really do is check over everything and make sure nothing got snagged. anywho best luck man!

i remember seeing a thread with this situation... cel after img install... can't remember if it was here or not...

i think i remember the problem to be an air leak. like the others have recommended, double check the install and make sure all the bolts are torqued to spec.

Ya, I thought maybe a vacuum leak, but why would it be intermittent then?

If I remember that thread correctly it was intermittent because of when the engine heated up something expanded and reduced the space of where the leak was. I think..

On a side note: I am a complete f'n retard...

I didn't tighten the fuel rail ground wire that was staring me right in the f'n face!

well you could do whatever you want to your car but once you throw a check engine light you void your warrenty not arguing just telling you how it is

A cel doesnt void your warranty. how would that be possible. it is supposed to warn you that something is wrong. your cel could come on if your dont close your gas cap eneough.

It's not easy. Just follow Q-Shooters DIY and you'll be ok. It just takes a long time 5-6 hours.

If you follow Q's DIY and remove the front bracket thingy you can get to the lower bolts no problem.
