engine lag...please help!

hey guys..i wasn't too sure what to search for, so pardon if this has been discussed already..but the other day..i was driving in the morning..and it was scorching hot..like 95 or so..pretty humid..and i was driving and i shifted into 3rd gear at around 2200-2500 RPM...and the engine lagged..as if the throttle body didn't open up or whatever..or like the car didn't get any air or somethin...idk how to explain it..but it lagged for a second, and then it picked up and accelerated fast..anyone know what im talkin about..or can help me and explain it or something..cause idk if my car is messed up..or is that something that happens when its hot like that...

thank you!!

RPMs were too low. If you get too low on RPMs and then you get on it, it will bog then take off, unless you are in first.

Eh, 2,000 RPM's is low in third gear... We have a 6 speed in our Si's.. Try shifting at 3000 and there will be no problem

DBW lag? It sometimes gets pretty bad, I think, on third for no real reason.
