Ouch! Firewall is gone. Little help!

^^ Fixed

Ok so I'm doing about 85 on the highway today and out of the blue I hear crazy scraping in my front end. I immediately thought I blew a tire but when i stopped to check it out it turns out that my splash shield came down from the front end and passenger side wheel well. Crap! So I proceed to take it off the car so i can put it back on when I got home. When I got back in to drive home I noticed I had a CEL and the VSA led's were on as well.

Can anyone tell me why this might be? It's too dark to look at the car now but I wont be able to sleep if I dont find out why I have this CEL. Why would me removing the splash shield cause a CEL?

Thanks for any help guys.

The splash shield. If your vsa light is on you might have caused damaged to the abs speed sensor .

It isn't always on but the CEL is always on. That makes sense though. I'll check it out.

Can you let the dealer fix it? It is still under warranty right?

Yeah probably. And I know warranty is out of the question. They're just gonna say I hit something. $$$$

take it to a local parts store first, that way if it was your fault, the dealership wont know about it.

get the code and post it on here. and we will go from there

Certain plastic trim on the underbody is designed to direct airflow to parts in the engine bay.

I see the ports in the plastic that I had to take off. But I dont think that's what's throwing the CEL. The codes are cylinder misfire's in 1-4.
