Servicing?

Does anyone know when the scheduled servicing is? For my old civic it was
all in the manual. At home many kms does the timing chain need to be replaced?, sparkplugs? ect? All it has is that dumb maintnance minder that doesnt say at how many kms this stuff needs to be done.

That "dumb maintnance minder" will tell you when to do all of your service. The manual does not list any service intervals.

I can't believe Honda didn't put it in the manual (I haven't got mine yet) but I trust you. Maintence schedules are available at this Honda link:

Actually, there is no maintenance schedule listed there either. It only describes each of the Maintenance Minder indicators. That site says to follow the Maintenance Minder.

I'm real confused now. If I click on the link it takes me to a page that as this type of information on it:

Schedule Service Appointment

Following the factory-recommended maintenance schedule in your Honda Owner's Manual is the best thing you can do for your vehicle. Regular scheduled maintenance helps prevent problems before they occur.

Because not everyone drives their Honda the same way, your Honda Owner's Manual includes normal and severe maintenance schedules.

View recommended service for your 2005 Honda Civic:

Normal
The "normal" schedule is fine for most drivers, even if they occasionally drive in severe conditions.

10,000 mi/16,000 km
10,000 mi/16,000 km/1 yr
20,000 mi/32,000 km
20,000 mi/32,000 km

Clicking on one of the intervals brings up what you're suppose to do there.
I found this by going to the Honda cars website and searching on "maintenance"

If I log into the site I do not see this. I have "registered" my car there and they only say to follow the Maintenance Minder. Have you logged into the site? If so, what vehicle do you have registered?

OK, I just found it in your post.

That information is, apparently, for a 2005 Civic. I own a 2006 Civic and the information that they display is specific to your vehicle.

Actually, even though I own 2 Hondas (neither one is a 2005 civic) I've never registered. Apparently the site pulls up a 2005 Civic as either a default or an example. Maybe if you register it will bring up your 2006.

OK, I have registered and it does bring up my 2006 Civic.

That being said, I have never seen a published "maintenance schedule" for a 2006 Civic. Everything that I have read (owner's manual, Honda Owner's Link site, etc.) has simply stated to follow the Maintenance Minder.

If you get far enough into the site to see the selections by miles/time like in my earlier post and click on them it will tell you what's needed, plugs, timing belt, etc. Good Luck
