Rattling noise in the back

i am getting this rattling/clicking noise in the back, i can't seem to figure it out, i think something is loose that all. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone fixed and and can give some advice on how to go about solving the problem?

Btw, this is on an 8thgen civic coupe

ZOE, check the forum. There are tons of threads about this. I'm pretty sure Honda just did a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for it. This means you can take it to Honda and fix it, or you can check out the DIY on the forum and try yourself.
Good luck.

There is a DIY fix for this. I also believe it's covered by Honda if you want to take it in and have them do it.

I made an appointment with my dealer next Monday to remedy this issue.

The service advisor was not aware of this TSB for the rear rattle until I called, and he was kinda enough to look. I know some of them will blow you right off pretend the problem does not exist.

I will try to get a copy of this TSB this coming Monday, then scan and post it for everyone to see.

Yeah man im serious, she said "oh we dont fix rattles on saturdays" i was like oh you f*ckin bitch! I hate front rage, which is my south Colorado Springs dealer. I get it lol, it seems like you got the same issue with your service people as i do. They are f*ckin dumb as shit! hell, i bet if i did leave it there, and got it back monday (because they dont work on Sundays, almost every business is closed) they would probably say the same thing "oh we need to take a look at the rattle again, can you bring it in for a few hours a a full day at best?" i'd be like hah f*ck that!!.

Seriously after my experience with dealership service departments, i am never goin back unless i know the guy in charge. Like know him personally somehow. I've taken mine back once after that incident and it was to a friends place, he helped me repair my fog lights when the dealership i bought it from didn't. When they called me the next time (dealership i bought the car from) i just told them another honda helped me out while you guys jsut want to **** up my car!

So true lol i would of done the same exact thing. The dealers suck balls, and the service departments. They probably joyride the car after "suposedly" fixing everything afterwords. Plus the other thing that pisses me off the most, is ignorant sales and service techs, why do dealers hire ignorant people that dont know much, if anything about the vehicles they sell?

So, after hearing about all of these poor service departments, does anyone know what the rattle from the rear deck may be?

Probably something loose that needs to be securely placed, mabe with tape or something, its not my sub but when it hits, the sub vibrates the piece back there so. I think it might just be a loose wire or cable that needs to be tied down.

I got some rattles too. Drivers door and rear lid I believe. They come and go. I think mine might be speaker related too. Too much bass pumping. LMAO. When it pisses me off enough Ill find the exact problem!

Dude you have the same problem as me! i swear! my driver door rattles off and on and so does the back plastic piece, it pisses me off too, even on mid/high bass the sub rattles it like a bitch and i know the sub isn't making the noise but something loose or something like a wire or a cable. But if you apply pressure to the piece, then its gone like put your hands on there to apply pressure.

06CivEXJon,

I noticed something weird with my car the first week I had it and expressed problem to my salesman during the "how do like the car?" call. I didn't think they did much on Saturday besides oil changes myself and was told later they will do anything. Salesperson was on cell walking to the service department to even make the appt FOR me.

I don't know how long you have had the car but I assume it's pretty new. Service people may be rude and possible not realize you've only had it for a few months or so?

Just wanted to suggest if you have problems getting an appt you bypass service and tell your salesperson (hopefully you had a good relationship with them) and they can get you a Saturday appt. Once you are in the door with service people and they understand your issues they will see you that day. I understand limiting service on weekends but it's not like they have to pull your engine or something to check for rattles.
