06 Si error codes

Hey Everyone, long time lurker - first time poster. I was on my way to work this morning and saw the yellow wrench show up on my dash and a 12 appeared down by my oil indicator. Tried the search and didnt get any hits ..

Anyone have any idea what a error code 12 might be?

Cheers
-Brian

lol..thats not an error code. thats the maintance minder telling you you have 12% left of your oil life....it actaully should have come on at 15% though.
everyhting you need to know about that is in the owners manual.

Congrats on your first post, and welcome!

Follow what Nighthawksi said. However, if a mod pops in here and proclaims that the error code means you have 12 days left before mandatory activation, he's lying to you. He's also working for Microsoft.

that's a good point, oil indicator percentage is a 15%.. first time I've ever let it get that low. I'll check the manual. RTFM.

Thanks,
-Brian

It may not be a 12% oil life minder. It may be maintenance minder 1 and 2.

Is there a letter before the 12 or does it say oil life some where in there?

Yes, I believe he is due up for the tire rotation and minor service items. There's no "12" that I remember on the Oil Life meter. Especially since that wrench showed up.

When I was down to 5% oil was the only time I think I remember seeing the wrench turn on....

yep, B12 (in the left hand corner opposite the oil indicator) went down and looked at it over lunch. sorry for the confusion.

I would have to agree that it's oil change time. The other items were checked when I had it in for the infamous clicking/popping sound coming from the clutch pedal that annoys the ever lovin $h!t out of me.

out of curiousity if the yellow wrench turns on and you do change your oil... will the wrench disappear and the oil life goto 100%??
or do you have to do something for the yellow wrench to disappear?

Hold the sel/reset button for ten seconds until it starts flashing then hold it again for 5 secs until it resets..

BAM oil life back at 100%
