Unhappy Keyless Remote issues not so remote?

Hi any one have any tips on getting the keyless remotes to work any better. It seems i have to be right on top of the car for the doors to unlock. I have complained to the dealer several times(maybe need to send my wife next time) and they say "nature of beast issue copout" They are no way as senstive as my Accord remotes which I can operate from a good distance. My wife is bellyaching cause she works at the mall and would be nice to be able to hit the panic button from a distance in case of a problem. I have checked other Civics and they seem to work as good as my Accord. The dealer re programmed the remotes and didnt help. Is there any way to adjust the antenna on the receivers in the car and where might they be.? Any help would be appreciated...tired of listening to my better halfs complaints

Thanks Ronevan

Well what really works is you stick the fob in the air with the key facing up it really works for lolng distances. Try that it works for me.

Guys have told me to touch the tip of the key to your chin so they your using your whole body as transmitter.. it seem to extend the usable distance even more on the Accord which is good to start and does help the Civic a little.. just seems to me there is something wrong with the receiver in the car and dealer wont fess up to it.

is it possible that theres interference in the parking lots youre trying to use the remote in. I know there are a couple places where i have to pretty much be at the car to have the remote work, and other times i can do it across the parking lot.

Yeah, I have the same complaint. Mine has worked in about a 15-20 foot radius of the car. My HHR remote was good for 200 feet. I'll have to try the chin thing... haha.

Put the fob under your chin and it should work. I heard that if you even open your mouth it will work even farther.

Don't forget to wear rabbit ear antennas for added reception

Do the chicken dance.
But uhh.. seriously.. just try walking around your house holding the panic button.. see what works.. A lot of cars interfere with the reception.. but if you get a good hit it'll be good.

To beat it in even harder, the fob-to-chin thing does work... Not so sure about opening your mouth though... lol

Does anyone else see a potential for a little free labor here?
