Help Removing Wipers

Okay, I need to remove the whole windshield wiper arm to replace the plastic cowel piece under it. The service manual says to remove the cap, remove the nut, and pull off the wiper arm... Well I removed the cap, removed the nut, and _tried_ to remove the wiper arm but the damn thing wouldn't budge. Has anyone else pulled them off before? am i missing something?

You have to have the hood close, then pull wiper blade arm towards you.

what happens is when the wiper is lay flat on the windshield it has tension at the end where the bolt is at thats why is not releasing.

i did actually bend the blade up but it still wouldn't budge... but if it is meant to just come off, maybe i just need to pull harder :) i was being conservative so that i didnt break it haha

this has got to be one of the most pos designs.... why the f-
do we need to take the damn thing off just to replace the inserts?
WTF.

i just got done doing mine... basically just use a small screw driver and
pry that pos plastic cover off. it's much easier. and you won't scratch it
or anything. go easy as you pry and push forward like the diagram.
you won't crack it if you go easy. i tried pinching that thing to
pull out...didn't work.

then push the bracket on the bottom side, pull the blade closest to the
winsheild towards the outside of the car.

find the tiny "LOCK" (mine was worn out and almost impossible to see)
text on the insert and pull the thing out. put it back together in
reverse order.

took me like 30min to do this. WTF. could've done all 3 of my other cars
in 10 min or less (normal design).
