Help! My Car is a Dust Magnet!

I'm a Newbie here, so please forgive me if this sounds really ridiculous.

I recently purchased a new '07 Civic coupe (Atomic blue Ex). Seems that every time I wash it (3 times in the last week) it it gets covered with a fine layer of dust that eventually becomes a thick layer of dirt. I've never had this problem ever before with any previous vehicles and when looking around at other vehicles parked close by, they look fine,(normal amount of accumilated dust). Why is mine so dirty I wonder?
Is it possible that the paint and/ or body parts contain an ionic charge that attracts dust, i.e, dirt? Does anybody have any experience with this sort of thing? Are there any Atomic Blue owners experiencing the same thing? Does anybody have a remedy?
Help!!!

I know exactly what you mean. I have a NHBP and I have never seen a car collect so much dust so fast. It does seem like it has some kind of static magnet that attracts dust.

after waxing i usually spray a little meguiars quick detailer on my MF and do a quick once over the whole body, helps diffuse some static to dust in my experience.

Meguiars all the way!

Have to use it every day, unless it's raining out.

Zaino Z6 is the only detail spray I've used where I could feel it reduce the static on the car. I highly recommend this stuff.

Don't those dusters just move some of the dirt around and cause swirls or scratches??

Just be happy you're not me... I live on a dirt road, with lots of pollen-loaded pine trees around and plenty of birds with GI problems.

Nope.

I don't have anymore swirls and scratches then when I started.

You don't swirl it around, you 'dust' off your car, long easy strokes, you don't push down on it, you don't *sweep* your car, you gently dust it all off. If you go to the Meguiars site, there are videos on how to use it, and a lot of show car people use these *california* dusters to spruce up.

The fibres pick up the pollen (static pulls it from the surface, and the brush is soft soft soft, would not scratch anything), and voila, noice. if there are any marks, it'ss on you wax coat, all you do is buff down with a micro fibre cloth and they're gons.

It doesn't do anyting but clean the pollen and dust off.

And if you're that worried about scratches, do you clay before polishing and waxing? Do you use two buckets to clean? one for soapy water, one to rinse your wash mit? Do you rinse your car first before washing it? and do you start from the top of your car down, and do the wheels last?

I think over time they may scratch a little...IMO it's better to go over the car with a detail spray since you at least have some lubrication there. Either way it's a fine line judging when the car is too dusty for either method.

Use a sealant instead of regular wax.
