Average MPG indicator gauge

isn't the Si equipped with a gauge for average MPG? i found something on it in the quick guide, but for the life of me can't find the damn thing. i'm on my first tank of gas. does it need a certain amount of miles before it will compute?

You must have misread; there is no MPG display available on the Civic.
