Exclamation Blinking Redline Warning Light!

I just went out to my can and the light that comes on when your approching redline was blinking. I know its not the same was as the alarm because that is on the stereo. I am able to turn the car on and it doesn't have any issues starting and i don't hear any clicking or anything. I did some spirited driving earlier today but i had no excessive rpm's or mis-shifts. I want to know if anyone else has had this happen. I have a 07 Si Sedan, All Stock. CEL also doesn't come on so i don't know what to think of tis.

there are two blinking red lights on your upper cluster, one is for the security system, the other is your shift light

It's a rev limiter light. it lets you know when you're nearing your redline area of the speedo-to shift.

The problem is, is that its blinking slowly while the car is turned off.

^EXACTLY!^ It's the security system for the WHOLE entire car. you know, the Si's DO have their own built in alarm systems. I read that when you have your car in security mode, that it WILL actually go off like you hit the panic alarm on your key fob-when someone actually opens your door without actually de-activating the alarm system with the keyless entry key fob. So although it's not sensitive to the touch like aftermarket alarms, it WILL still go off if someone breaks in.

exactly, the one on the stereo is only indicating that if you cut the power to the stereo it will want a code before it works again, it has nothing to do with the vehicles security system

The little red light is beckoning you to redline.

Hold the pedal to the floor.

I only have 1800 miles on my 07 Si and I haven't went past 4.5 to 5000 RPM's. I have yet to see my Rev limiter light come on. I'll wait to do that after my first oil change with Mobil 1 Super Synthetic oil. that FULLY synthetic oil...."the good stuff"

my wife and i noticed the same thing. after having the car for a little over a month she came in and said that the shift light was blinking even though the car was off. we've always noticed the one on the navi unit, and had never noticed this shift light blinking before while the car was off. immediately i was pretty bummed about it. what could be wrong? we finally realized that we had just never noticed it blinking before, and that it was part of the alarm system. it's kind of hard to see unless you are at just the right angle. most of the time you arm the alarm as your walking away from the car, thus you never see the light blinking. the blinking light on the navi unit is much easier to see from many different angles.

I've never noticed it before also, so i'll just let it pass for now. I have to take it in tomorrow for some other warranty related items and i'll see what they say.

I've had the car for 2.5 months and have just not noticed it. That sounds logical. But on the reverse, Most people don't change their cars stereo. So it wouldn't be to hard to believe that they didn't build a secondary Security system light in to the car believing that the one in the stereo would be sufficient.

ok, so after i'm done laughing, I'm gonna give ya a quick hint. We're all on here as family, and as a family member i'm telling you that your nutz. Look, yes, Honda did something right.
#1- Most aftermarket alarm systems have an LED somewhere "OUTSIDE" of the radio LED. The LED comes on when the alarm's on right? Notice when you shut your doors, then lock them with the key you see the LED (like an aftermarket one)

#2- Be upset with your dealer. They should've at least given you a walk thru of your car, and some of the more "basic" functions of it.

#3- If all else fails, next time don't post something else like this before "READING THE MANUAL" if you have nav, it's in BOTH. The manual makes great shit reading...
