The MM is there to ASSIST you, dont let it take it over. Change at the interval u're comfortable with, and change even if u dont drive a lot. Mineral oils aren't mean to last more than 6 months or so, and I believe fully syn can do 1yr+, but I woun'dt go over 1yr.

BTW, check out AMSOIL ASL with the Ea filter, it's what I ordered a few weeks ago. Will install at next oil change that shit's gonna last me like a year lol

3rd person usage is tongue-in-cheek...no exuse other than humor directed at Ehcees. Why don't you spell "you" and "your" instead of using phonetic stand-ins?

Anyway, back to the topic, I just reset the MM when it gets low. I use Amsoil...just changed out the oil and filter after 5 months (17,500 miles) on Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil (TSO) and an EaO filter. A year is possible...TSO oil is rated up to 35,000 miles and the EaO filters can last 25,000 miles. Amsoil FTW. Using the OPs color chart I would have changed the oil at around 4000 miles instead of 17,500.

Oil gets dirty by gasoline. Oil can go dirty at 1000 miles or 8000 all depending on how hard you drive and how new the car is.

I've got about 2200 miles on my new FA5 and I just hit 80%.

I've only had it for a month though, so I'm on pace for 24k miles/yr. YIKES!

Dont worry man, I put 2k in one month too. I'm hoping I wont have to do this much driving all year

Well, to compound things, I might be moving in with my girl, then I'd be putting 100 miles a day on my car.

36k miles/year! Good thing I got that 120k warranty
