I doubt it will be covered since a clutch is considered a wear item. unless you can prove that something on the car forced the clutch to wear out early your gonna be stuck paying for it.

it should be covered in warranty. there is no way that it is normall for ur clutch to wear out in 10,000 miles. no way. take it to the dealer!!

no way except driver error. I work at a nissan dealer and see cars with less miles than that come in with blown clutches and customers pay for them all day long. Unless they pull the trans out and find something in there causing the problem it shouldn't be covered.

same thing happened to me at almost 10,000 miles. the guy told me the same. it is a worn item so they dont usually cover it. but he talked to his people and got it done for free since hes pretty cool guy. most likely its driver error. but i learned my lesson now

i don't know but this seems to be going on a lot with the new si. i seen a lot of ppl with clutches gone out at the 10k mark which seems odd to me. even mine went out at 10k and i know it wasn't my error for the most part. in my case, the clutch wasn't completely out, it had a few more thousand miles, but it was slipping when you got on it in the upper rpms. the stealership said that they found nothing wrong with it when they drove the car, but did mention that in case it was the clutch, it would be out of pocket.

I'm a service advisor at Acura... i have never seen a car tl, rsx, tsx neither come in with 10k or less and have the customer pay the bill. We may give the customer crap at first...but most customers will put up a fight and then we just fall and say yeah we'll cover it. Clutches are usually 12months 12k anyways so

son of a bitch! i knew i should have fought it, but i wanted an aftermarket clutch. 10k is insane for a clutch to go out.

10,000 miles is premature wear unless they could make a case that you were tracking your car. I would see if the dealership is willing to be merciful to you and fix it. Never hurts to ask.

I would tend to agree. If the clutch issue you have 'was' generated from your driving habits a replacement stock clutch isn't going to last very long (barring adjustement of driving habits). I would give serious consideration to an aftermarket clutch.

That is certainly what mine will be replaced with when it eventually goes.

All of you who might be having clutch problems... do your best to try and find someone who knows how to install the clutch.

I know Honda was trying to screw me over saying I needed a new clutch, shifter and transmission... .when I finally pulled out my old clutch..... it was missing pieces and even one of the springs were destroyed.

I was upset at what they had said at honda and never even bothered to ask to look at the clutch itself because they said they tore apart my tranny.. but I doubt that seeing how they did it so fast in maybe 50 mins...

Good luck though....

if you paid $1200 to repalce a clutch, you got f*cking owned hard core. A clutch kit costs $350 max. labor is about 3 hours (70-90 bucks an hour). the techs probably wen tout to the titty bar with your money. Its not even hard to change the cluthc on a fwd vehicle. You can do it yourfself in a day.

Ive got 20k on my stock clutch and still grabs like a son of a bitch. I dont drive easy either. Stop riding your clutch

I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is your first stick car? You're probably riding the clutch like crazy. If this isn't the case, my mistake.
