Is this normal?

Is it normal for the A/T to shift from D to D3 by just moving the shifter? not by pressing the button on the shifter or the brakes but is it normal? moving just the lever to D3 by going down hill? or anywhere?

You don't have to push the button to go from D to D3, I believe you only have to that to go into D2 and 1.

Is that what you're asking?
