Few issues when first starting the car

Just like to say that all of this is happening in 70F temperature.

1. When I'm starting up the car for the first time after sitting for more than 8 hours the car doesn't start the fastest. It's not as bad as a bad flywheel, but almost like the engine is too cold. It seems to take a little longer than I'm used to with my last car, 2004 Honda Civic EX, for the engine to start up/ignite. This issue pretty much goes away when the car has warmed up say after driving for 5min.

2. After starting up the car and I begin driving the car surges forward a lot, sometimes really bad. In first it's the worst, probably because that gear is so sensitive, then second is better and usually goes away by third gear. Again, this is in 70F weather and once the engine warms up it goes away.

3. There seems to be a lot of residue on the exhaust, almost as if the car is running rich, this might even explain the other two issues I'm having.

4. My gas mileage is s***. I've driven the car 621 miles and I just filled up the car for the third time. So including the fill that I got from the dealership I've gone through 3 tanks of gas meaning I've gotten about 210 miles per tank. I don't know how many gallons are car holds but I think that's about 15mpg.

I'm taking the car to the dealership on Monday, I just want to hear what you guys think. I just finished my break in period. I haven't been accelerating fast at all. I must admit I VTec a couple times after the 400 mile mark, but I doubt that would do anything. Other than that It's been very slow, conservative driving shifting around 3.5k RPM during my break in period with 2 longer trips of about 70miles each and not using cruise control.

Edit: I must add that the car runs great. I'm having fun now since my break-in period is over. There is no noise or any performance issues to indicate that there is something wrong.

1. try leaving the key in the start position but dont start it. this gives the fuel pump time to feed it fuel.]

2.let the car warm up.

3. thats normal.

4.thats also normal.

I always leave the key in the II position for a short instance before starting the car. Seems odd having to let the car warm up in such warm weather.

Unfortunately it's normal for our cars, at any ambient temp, to surge in first gear when the engine is cold.

I hate it too.
