Please dont be cheap and try to cover it up a HFP kit. Give your car a little love and get it fixed. Sorry to hear about what happened though.....

Looks like you will be getting a new bumper. Atleast you wont have any rock chip.

Speaking about replacing bumper; I saw this in ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-P...spagenameZWDVW

Quite Cheap; they even paint it according to the color of your car. I am basically right now face the same problem like you did with your car (only in a smaller scale, no need to buy a replacement bumper). However, the cost of repainting the bumper is just unacceptable ($560).
So what do you think, has anyone use this kind of thing before?

It looks to me like one of those chinese knock off bumpers. My brother got a bumper from a place near town for real cheap on his 95 civic only to find out that the fit was really crappy. OEM is the only way to go if you care about your car.

OEM is the only way to go- The ones on eBay are aftermarket brands. They will fit OK, but usually on Civics they dont meet up to the fenders quite right because they are made to fit aftermarket fenders.... Since you hit a tire, that is under you comprehensive insurance which for most people carries a lower detuctible and cant't effect you rates. An OEM bumper alone is around $270 plus about $400 to install and paint. your looking at about $670-$800 easily. Plus who knows what they will find when they take off your bumper. Your condenser might be broken, Grill, H/L tab..... Who knows- take it to a good bodyshop, and they will take care of you.....
