Rim damage / Curb rash

I know alot of people have aftermarket wheels on. My question is if you guys find it possible to keep your rims damage free.

I've had my 18's for less than week, and I already have slight curb rashes along the very sides ( where the tire touches the rim itself ) , on each of the 4 wheels. You have to be close to see it but its there.

The roads are really bad here, but I've been driving very carefully. Same thing when parking I keep it pretty far from the sidewalk. I just have no idea how rims can be scratched so easily.

Sounds like the tire mounting machine scratched your wheels.

Anyway to tell if the damage is from the mounting machine or otherwise?

Thanks, I believe thats what happened. Because the scratches aren't deep but run a couple inches long around the top of each rim.

I'm gonna go back and see what they say.
