digtal dash

Just a quick question

I really like the design of the new dash, but I do wonder how long these digtal dash will last?

will the be pricey to fix if they go wrong.

THX

They are a lot of very complex things with this car.

this is not the first car with a digital dash. and honda made it, so it should last pretty long

"How long will it last...?" is a bit like asking "What does God, shave-with....??" I mean, who really knows?? Buy it, & find out!

Probably as long as the digital display on your wrist watch has lasted.

When the dash on my Si goes bad, I'm pushing the whole car over a cliff, then I'll start over.

j/k - I wouldn't worry about it, unless you plan on owning the car for 10+ years.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not a Kia.

Many older cars came with digital dashes, and for the most part, they are long lasting. This is made by honda, so even with the lapses in build quality that many of us are seeing, it'll probably last awhile.

I had a digital dash in my Beretta and it crapped out on me so I sold it as is.

My guess is around $700 CDN for the dash

Honda started putting digital dashes in the fourth-gen Prelude in ~1995. I haven't heard about any of those displays crapping out so we should be alright for a good long while.

My old college car was a 83 Subi with a full digital dash. I drove it until 94 and sold it to my cousin with 250,000 miles on it. It's still running today with over 350,000 miles and the dash still works! I really wish I would have kept that little car.... oh well!

I wouldn't sweat it.

If anything I've got bad impressions of analog dashes. Our old volvo's speedometer began sticking and eventually stopped working about 7 years in. We never got round to fixing it but 3 years later it started working from time to time again.

according to hondapartsdeals.com the meter cluster has a MSRP of $301.65. In all honesty thats not that bad of a price any way. however the labor from a dealer would probably kill you.
