Well I suggest your first step is take your car to the dealership and trade the bitch in for a Civic with a MT.

Not to be obnoxious or anything.

yeah swapping it would be a bitch,i suggest taking it to a dealer and doing the trade,i think you'd have to swap the engine as well not sure though, but if you plan on swapping both,K24 ftw

yep, trading it in for a manual is the best way. too much labor, parts and time is put into it. Its a new car so it be hard to find spare parts to swamp it even if you can it probably be brand new so itll cost a lot unlike the older ninety something civic

think about it... i dunno in the states but here in mexico the manual is cheaper than the auto, if it is a 2007 why dont you just trade it for a manual? i mean maybe you will end up paying the same for swaping than for trading it... plus you will get a new car hehe again....

Start car.

Drive to dealer

Make a deal on new 07 Civic MT

Sign papers

Drive away

Your done!

In all seriousness, it's a LOT of work and a lot of money to put into such a new car, it's going to be cheaper to trade it.

Now if this was a 91 with 20k miles on it and it was in mint condition then a swap is certainly something that's doable. I swapped a manual into my ex 94 Volvo 940 Turbo, it was a straight forward swap, remove auto, insert manual and all parts removed from parts car. Nowadays you have to change computers, engine wiring harnesses, subframes, exhaust, alllll sorts of things, it's just not worth it.

Manual R18s are hard to find, I had to look all over Houston and finally found one, they have significantly more pick up than the Automatics, and more fun to drive IMO, but they are difficult to find here in Houston. They are slightly cheaper not much and they don't get as good mpg as the Automatics because they have 1 less gear in the trany, which means they run at higher RPMs in the highway. Love mine. hope this helps

Actually, just a correction, the Auto and the MT have the same amount of gears, 5, but the Auto is able to run at a higher gear ratio allowing it to run lower RPM's at high speeds giving it the additonal 2 MPG on the HWY.

Ok, thanks for the correction, I knew it had something to do with the gears. But the extra pick up is nice definitively worth giving up the MPG
