If its 3rd then its normal. Either go back to honda and ask them for the new manual transmission fluid or change to GM synchromesh or Amsoil. A lot of manual trannys come over filled too, another thing to ask them to check.

If its NOT 3rd gear then take it right back to the dealer to get it fixed.

Got any more details on it, like which gears or anything.

Is it one gear in particular? You should start by swapping out the MTF. Your case sounds different though, almost as if you have bad synchros.

this may be a little off topic, but my 3rd gear kind of sounds like it has a short mini grind when I shift into it, just like a grindy klunk, is this normal?

Did you change your MTF. I think it's normal. Third gear sort of has two stages, where it'll go in, but you know it can go in further, so you put it into neutral and go back into third.

Shiting on my civic isn't as smooth as I like sometimes. It feels notchy at times...maybe this is what you're referring to? Grinding gears is actually quite loud and very distinct.

my MTF is still the origional stuff, I get all the way into 3rd, and my 3rd isn't really grinding (I know what that sounds like), but its making a wierd, grinding like klunk sound when the shifter hits the top.

Normal? Common, yes, but not normal...

Do what Tastycakes says...

When I first bought my 06 it grinded 2nd and 3rd occasionally. Now at 23k the 2nd grind is gone but 3rd is still sometimes stiff. The application of a short shifter and the corsport aluminum shift bushings have made my shifter more positive and greatly less prone to grind. I will be going with the gm synchromesh(with friction modifiers). much harder to find than standard synchromesh.I hear this stuff is great.
