Thanks for info guys but this still hurts badly. I will be posting the pics up on Friday. The shops that i went to said that it was very deep and they had to remove all the paint on the door and do it all over. O yea, if i put touch up paint on it, would it stop the rust if i drove it in the rain?

Im sorry to hear what happened to your ride distrbd. There should be some kind of built in gun in our cars so that who ever tries to key us, they get shot.

I got keyed as well so I feel your pain. I got quoted $1,200 because of the Royal Blue Pearl paint

They got me good too, down to the primer. Started at the driver's side door and went all the way to the tail light.

i thought your insurance company cover the payment, vandalism?
my friend's NHBP got keyed also, about a week ago. Both sides and his insurance is covering the payment for him. Different with other state?

i hate people that do this. they need to grow some balls

Call your insurance and see if they can pay for the vandalism/damage without raising your insurance; some cover 100% vandalism without raising it, but many other will raise it big time; good luck.

Before i call up insurance, shold i try these touch up paint? Base Coat Paint Pen, Clear Coat Pen and Primer Pen. If i got these would they hide the white and look as if it is back to normal?

I'm sure you could never be satisfied with the result ,it will always look touched up and ugly.should only serves as a temporary fix until is done professionally.but I think deep in your heart you knew that.I'm so sorry this has happened to your car.

First off, why would you think the dealer would cover this?

second, it should cost about $350-400 by the time you take the labor to take off the door handle, trim panel and belt moulding(s) then you have to repair the door and refinish it- the labor rate at the body shop I work at is $46 an hour- it adds up quick

Third- the dealer would not charge $1200 to do the same work- thats rediculous. They probably wanted to blend the paint onto the surrounding panels (hense why its 3Xs as much because they are doing 3Xs more work)

Depending on your color, blending is the way to go because if you refinish just one door its going to stand out in certian light- pics would help and I could write you an estimate from the body shop I work out to comapare-
